Day three

Day Three of the JPHMA Homoeopathy International Charity Conference

Morning Session

Greetings

'I am so glad to have this last day together. We have a strong power within ourselves. We have potential. It is up to us if we open up this potential or not. I am sure that many presentations of hope will be given again today. I am expecting my juniors to keep working hard and carrying on.

The now customary Earth ball appeared. "The earth" which received support from many people's hands was returned to Ms Yui, chair of JPHMA, who then opened the last day's events.

Conference Notice

Mr Akiyama, JPHMA lawyer, asked us to bear the following in mind at this conference.

'Many wonderful case studies were presented yesterday and the day before. As Hahnemann, who gave us homoeopathy, was consistently dedicated to his clients so the act of homoeopathy is an act of love, and we are practicing this every day. I expect more wonderous case studies to be presented again today.'

Before the presentations started a video digest of the previous day's conference was shown. With visitors coming from all across Japan, not everyone had been able to attend all three days of the conference, so it was pleasing to see the video highlights being applauded.

"Case study - egestion of kidney stones using homoeopathy" by Tomoko Yamauchi

She presented a very informative case of kidney stones.

She explained clearly the client's daily stress, the development and pathology of the kidney stone, and the cause of the terrible pain that has led to kidney stones being called "the king of pain".
When she showed the pictures of the kidney stones, the audience were aghast as they were so large.

"Case study - a dog was cured of his inability to walk by QX-SCIO" by Mariko Kobayashi

She presented two separate canine cases, that were improved by QX-SCIO, an energy device.

QX-SCIO is used alongside homoeopathic consulation for animals. We were given a practical demonstration.
She showed pictures of the dogs, radiographs, and a DVD so that the audience could recognise the healing process. When the dog started to walk again, there was delight on the faces of the audience.

She expressed her gratitude to Professor Bill Nelson, who developed the QX-SCIO, and to Hahnemann.

"Homoeopathic approach to dairy farming" by Mamino Yasuda, Makoto Otawa and Keiko Otawa

They gave a presentation of a homoeopathic approach to animal husbandry in dairy farming.

They use homoeopathy on their cows at a stock farm. A manager at the stock farm and a homoeopath work together on the daily care of their cows and they showed examples the successful cases. The audience was impressed by their acute observations on cows that were unable to express their feelings and by the farm's efforts in building up the cows' immunity.

"Case study - a child with developmental disorder cured by the homoeopathic remedy Bell" by Wataru Katagiri

He presented a case study in which a boy with a developmental disorder that prevented him from walking had his condition alleviated.

This case had a great impact as it demonstrated the large number of clinical cases that had influenced this treatment. It also showed a deep understanding of the issues facing families who have children with developmental disorders.

The audience were very impressed by the clear improvements that were shown in the DVD of the case.

"Case study - Using homoeopathy to eliminate suppuration and relieve suppressed symptoms" by Terue Asano

This case study involved a client whose eczema was treated by eliminating suppuration.

The pictures showed widespread eczema on the hands and legs. Fever and suppuration are often suppressed by conventional drugs. Homoeopathy regards such symptoms as important as they help eliminate toxins and cleanse the inside of the body. We can understand this as a body's normal reaction towards a disease, as once these symptoms pass the patient's condition improves.

The presentation also demonstrated how Ms Asano and the client were patiently working together towards success.

"The connection between sexual consciousness and homoeopathy" by Mineo Hotta

This presentation was to show how to improve both the mental and physical aspects of an individual.

According to ayurvedic practice, mental health is as important as physical health. Sex plays a very important role in good mental health. In this case, he demonstrated how sexual consciousness can have an influenece on physical health. At the core of sexual conciousness lies the issue of the inner child. He clearly demonstrated how homoeopathy is a useful technique for problems of both mind and body.

"How current cancer treatment will influence future practice" by Takeshi Sakou (Ph.D in Medicine)

Dr Sakou is a surgeon at St.Marguerite Hospital who works for the Keijin Medical Corporation.

He gave us a presentation on the theme of 'How current cancer treatment will influence future practice' at this conference.

Initially he explained about history and results of conventional cancer medicines to date. Due to progress in developing conventional drugs, equipment and testing methods, early detection and treatment became possible. However, it is still difficult to treat clients with advanced cancer even when using conventional medicine. In Japan currently every second person develops cancer; of those with cancer, one person in three will die as a result. At the moment the causes of cancer are still unclear, so there is no basic remedy for this under conventional medicine. The audience was shocked to know that a third of the deaths in cancer patients are due to the side effects of conventional drugs or medical error.

He introduced a number of books describing alternative medicines and dietary treatments. He then approached many of the problems facing cancer patients from a variety of veiwpoints. He suggested that, given the escalating costs of medical treatment,it was logical to promote integrated forms of medicine which would draw upon alternative therapies .The audience's sustained applause indicated their strong approval.

Afternoon Session

Koto (Traditional Japanese harp) by Gashu Nagata and Gashuka Kamata

As usual the lunch break was accompanied by traditional Japanese entertainment; on this, the last day, the Koto - an ancient form of Japanese harp - was played by Gashu Nagata and Gashuka Kamata.
The well-known songs that were played included 'Chidori(Plover)''Haru-no-umi(Sea in the spring time)'and 'Sakura(Japanese cherry)'.

Between the songs, Gashu Nagata explained the history of the Koto and its playing methods, while the overseas guests listened attentively.
The audience applauded loudly at the end.

"A Homoeopathic approach to Oncology" by Dr Prasanta Banerji and Dr Pratip Banerji

Drs Prasanta and Pratip Banerji from India have established the'Banerji Protocol'.

Normally, it takes one to two hours to consult with a client, but this Protocol has enabled them to reduce this time by the application of specific remedies to particular diseases.
They are now able to deal with up to 1,500 clients per day at their clinic. The Banerji Protocol has been introduced at Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) events throughout the world.

They demonstrated several client cases that had benefitted from Banerji Protocol to the conference. The explanation behinbd their strategy was simple to understand.

The Banerji family have a history as homoeopathic doctors which started with Prasanta's father. They have bestowed their devotion on many clients. The presentation impressed on us that the creation of the Protocol came about as a direct response to patient needs.

"The three dimensional method; an approach to the inner child" by Yui Torako

The concept of the "inner child" can become an important issue in the curative process for physical and mental symptoms.

Clients need to be aware and heal their inner child because it can unconsciously undermine the mind and body. The Chairperson Ms. Yui says that it is not only remedies but also a "remedy of words" that is necessary to heal a client's inner child.

"We should not neglect ourselves. When one stops neglecting one's self, we will not be neglected by other people either. We should stop tormenting ourselves..." "It is alright if you cry. It does not matter even if you cannot work. You are allowed to be dependant on other people because you did your best."

We noticed that the client shed tears and changed their facial disposition during the "remedy of words" section in the video of the consultation.
Consideration and love are necessary for homoeopathy.

The excellent presentation by Chairperson Yui was the last presentation of the conference, and it left a deep impression on the audience.

International Forum

Chairperson Ms. Yui and guests sought feedback on the conference, and asked for suggestions for future events.

All those present gave the same answer; they said "The three days were great fun and I learnt many things."
In addition, we were able to define the future aims of homoeopathy, and recognise potential problems in attaining these.

From the many comments made by guests, I would like to report a few words from Ewald Stoteler.
"It was love that left the deepest impression on me during in this conference. Through such love people can grow as homoeopaths and humans."
These words summarized the overall sense of the value of this conference, as all were able to recognise the love that came from all the visitors.

We also received comments regarding the future direction and development of homoeopathy in Japan.

General comment

The audience showed their appreciation to Chairperson Yui with a sustained round of applause.

"I hesitated to hold this conference after the earthquake disaster. However, thanks to your support we have managed a successful conference. Next year I would like to hold another conference on the the themes of "Love" and "Harmony".

Thank you for your help." The hall was filled with applause.

Closing

The conference's closing speech was given by Director Miyazaki.

"I do not want to end this conference yet. I thank the many people that have joined it, thank you so much. I cried while singing a song about Homoeopathy. It seemed that the song reminded me of the many hardships we have had. Chairperson Ms. Yui, we have made good fellowships. Many people gathered at an event such as this, all for homoeopathy. I think it is so wonderful. Even the earthquake disaster can teach us many important things. We will open up the possibilities of homoeopathy more widely from now on. These three days could effect my soul. The conference has is nowclosed.

Many people continued to greet and talk to Chairperson Yui and the other guests long after the conference was closed, which demonstrated what a great success it had been.
